(2) Tree Removal Permit Required.

Except as exempted in subsection (3) of this section, a tree permit is required to remove, cut, or prune trees as follows:


  • Trees located within a critical area, shoreline area, or associated buffer;
  • Trees within a required landscaping area;
  • Clearing of 2,000 square feet or more on private property;
  • Trees located on City-owned property;
  • Trees located within City right-of-way.
