Service Area & Delivery Limitations
Due to the size and weight of firewood logs and tree rounds, availability and delivery are strictly location-dependent. Logs come from active tree removal jobs, and we prioritize drop-off locations as close to the job site as possible.
We serve Seattle-area locations only, and delivery is limited to neighborhoods within our normal service area. We do not transport logs long distances or outside the Seattle area. In some cases, pickup may be required if delivery is not feasible.
If logs become available near your location, we’ll reach out. Being on the list does not guarantee delivery or timing.
Optional Services & Additional Charges
While this program is primarily intended to distribute free firewood logs and tree rounds based on availability and proximity, some requests may require additional time, equipment, or travel beyond what is feasible for free drop-off.
Optional services that may involve an additional charge include, but are not limited to:
- Priority delivery when logs need to be transported farther than the immediate job area
- Deliveries that require special scheduling outside normal job routes
- On-site cutting or resizing of large or irregular logs into more manageable lengths
- Handling oversized, heavy, or difficult-to-access log sections
- Situations where additional crew time or equipment is required
Any optional service is subject to availability, site access, crew scheduling, and operational constraints. Pricing, if applicable, varies depending on distance, load size, time required, and complexity of the request. Fees are discussed on a case-by-case basis and are never required to remain on the free list.
Being open to optional paid services does
not guarantee availability, delivery timing, or priority, but it may allow for greater flexibility when free drop-off is not feasible.

Questions About Free Firewood & Tree Logs
These frequently asked questions cover how our free firewood and tree log program in Seattle works, what types of logs are typically available, and what to expect from arborist-sourced firewood logs. Because logs come from active tree removal jobs, availability, size, species, and delivery timing can vary by neighborhood. This FAQ section explains delivery limitations, log sizes, seasoning expectations, and optional services so you can decide whether this program is a good fit for your needs.
Is delivery guaranteed?
No.
Delivery depends on where our active tree removal jobs are located at the time logs become available. In some cases, pickup may be required. We prioritize drop-offs that are close to the job site.
Is the wood split or seasoned?
No.
Logs and rounds are unsplit and freshly cut. This wood will need to be cut, split, and seasoned before burning. We do not provide processed or kiln-dried firewood through this program.
Are the logs standard firewood size (16")
No.
Logs from arborist removals vary widely in length, diameter, and shape. Sections are often longer or larger than standard 16" firewood and may require cutting or splitting before use.
Can I request specific species?
You may note preferences, but we cannot guarantee species, size, or quantity. Availability depends entirely on the trees being removed on active jobs. Loads may include mixed species and large-diameter sections.
How often do you have logs?
Availability varies week to week based on our job schedule. Some removals generate multiple trailer loads, while others produce none. Joining the list ensures we can contact you when logs are available near your location.
Need Help Cutting Large or Irregular Logs?
Logs from arborist tree removals are not uniform firewood lengths. Sizes, diameters, and shapes vary depending on the tree and removal method. Some sections may be too large or long to fit into a fireplace or wood stove without additional cutting.
In limited cases, on-site cutting or resizing may be available for customers who do not have chainsaws or equipment. This service is optional, subject to scheduling and access, and may involve an additional fee.
For customers who need more flexibility, some requests may qualify for optional paid services such as priority delivery or on-site log cutting.
